Attending School in Seattle

Seattle City Facts & Stats

With one of the most recognizable skylines in the country, Seattle, Washington is a cosmopolitan, coastal city that spreads over 80 sq. miles. Seattle is home to over a half a million residents, and offers a moderate coastal climate of 35-45F in the winter, and 56-76F in the summer.

Highlights & Attractions

Seattle is home to many attractions including lush parks and gardens, many historical sites, several notable art museums, as well as the Seattle Aquarium, Pike's Place Market, several professional sports teams, the Seattle symphony, and the famous Space Needle to name a few. As a port city with a rich ethnic base, Seattle is also home to a broad range of both performing, and visual arts. Seattle is a well-known artistic community that is actively supported by local government and businesses, with hundreds of pieces of public art located throughout the city.

Seattle has also long been known as the home of the Punk/Grunge culture and much of this culture is still present in Seattle. In addition, the city has also begun to demonstrate a more broad-based atmosphere with high-end restaurants, shops, eclectic architecture, and diverse neighborhoods.

Educational Opportunities

It is Seattle's blend of culture, creativity, and self-expression that draws so many students each year. There are several schools and university campuses in Seattle that offer a wide range of degrees and programs for students studying anything from the visual arts to marine biology.
